Joe Strata for Congressional District 11

Joe Strata is a Republican businessman, Trump ally, and one of five Republican candidates running in the November 2026 midterm elections. His alliance with Trump says much about his candidacy: he has little evident government experience and appears to believe, as Trump did before taking office, that government can be run like a privately owned business. One of his most prominent promises in television ads is that he will “deliver on term limits.” This again suggests a lack of understanding about how government works. Establishing congressional term limits would require amending the U.S. Constitution, either through approval by two-thirds of the House and Senate followed by ratification by three-fourths of state legislatures, or through a constitutional convention called by two-thirds of the states. So here is the simple math of this under option One (1)   TOTAL FOR PASSAGE REP DEM House of Rep 435 287 ...

Randy Fine for Congress

Mr. Randy Fine currently represents Florida’s 6 th Congressional District, even though he does not live there. Many people, myself included, may not realize that U.S. representatives are not required to reside in the districts they serve. As a result, someone living in Miami with enough money and party support could run to represent voters in Pensacola. In addition to not living in the district he claims to represent, Mr. Fine has introduced several bills and used political rhetoric that reflect anti-Islamic bias. While his personal religious beliefs are not the issue, his statements and actions suggest that his position is rooted more in religious prejudice than in policy. He has also shown a pattern of racist conduct in both his actions and public remarks. Mr. Fine is a staunch supporter of the MAGA movement and Mr. Trump’s far-right political agenda. Mr. Fine has a record of troubling conduct. In April 2023, the Florida Commission on Ethics found probable cause that he violated...

Ballroom a Nation Security Emergency?!?

Trump calls court order halting ballroom construction ‘a national security threat atthe highest level’ In the article above, Mr. Trump claims that the Washington, D.C., District Court of Appeals’ order halting above-ground construction on the former East Wing—potentially the future Ballroom—until the lower court rules on the pending lawsuit is a matter of “great national security.” There is no basis for claiming that construction of a White House ballroom serves a “National Security” interest. Rather, Mr. Trump appears to be linking that claim to the bunker formerly located beneath the East Wing, which was removed when the East Wing was demolished. By removing both the East Wing and the bunker, Mr. Trump created the very “national interest” emergency he now cites. The court’s order bars only above-ground construction, leaving any below-ground bunker work unaffected. In short, the alleged emergency stems from Mr. Trump’s own decision to demolish the East Wing without the req...

Mr. Trump has been outsmarted – AGAIN!

Mr. Trump has been outsmarted – AGAIN! Oman has negotiated a deal with Iran that allows Iran total control of Inbound ships going through the Straits of Hormuz and Oman and Iran sharing control of outbound ships. This freedom of navigation does NOT include the movement of American ships through the Straits. In the meantime, Iran has had the opportunity to regroup, restock, and re-position after a 3-4 day cease fire. Put it in simple terms, the Arab countries negotiated with Iran to allow their oil, etc. free passage through the Straits and flipping a finger at the United States and Europe. The United States need to return fire on Iran or get off the toilet and pull out leaving the Arab countries to fend for themselves and let Iran over take each and every one of those Arab countries. Blow to Donald Trump as Iranians strike deal to police Strait of Hormuz

Who is in control of the Iranian War between Iran and the U.S.?

Mr. Trump is being puppeteered by the Arab countries because they are afraid of getting hit by Iran and Iran is playing on their fear to keep the US at bay. At the same time, Mr. Trump is following the Arab countries "pleads" (or direction) for something in exchange- not sure what but knowing Mr. Trump it has something to do with $$$. Exclusive- Iran threatens to hit Gulf states if US launches new strikes

How can I tell if a News Media outlet is Bias?

One of the ways is consulting with an outline service call AllSides and their website https://www.allsides.com/media-bias/media-bias-chart . AllSides uses a panel of experts representing all spectrums of the political landscape as well as input from the public to break various news media outlets into Conservative, Liberal, leans left or leans right, or in the middle. Below is a partial list. For details, see the link above. LIBERAL The Atlantic Daily Beast The Guardian Huffpost MS Now New York Times The New Yorker CONSERVATIVE Fox News Federalist New York Post NewsMax Breitbart MIDDLE Bloomberg Forbes The Hill Newsweek Reuters In general, “Liberal” news media tend to reflect Democratic Party viewpoints, while “Conservative” outlets tend to reflect Republican Party viewpoints. Sources rated “Middle” usually present balanced, neutral, or independent perspectives on the major parties. I say “tend to” because most news outlets shift in tone...

Corporate vs. Government Organization

Today’s U.S. government leaders under Trump have treated government like a private business, with Mr. Trump as the sole owner exercising ultimate control and facing little oversight. The secretaries of the various departments report to him and appear accountable to no one else. This is clearly not the form of government the founders designed. A government run like a sole proprietorship becomes, in effect, a dictatorship, leaving citizens with little or no rights and no meaningful influence. The only initial check is the Electoral College, which helps determine who holds executive power—unless that leader eliminates such constraints, including Congress, the Supreme Court, and other institutions, to consolidate control. This is one reason Mr. Trump appears to admire systems such as those in China, Russia, and North Korea, where national leaders exercise broad control over what happens within their spheres of power. In practice, the U.S. government more closely resembles a corporati...

Voting – Part 2

Why is it important to Vote in 2026? Voting in the 2026 midterms matters for several reasons. Most urgently, the country is involved in a war that Congress has not formally authorized, while gridlock in the Senate has prevented meaningful action. Although the filibuster exists for understandable reasons, it can also block legislation when there is no clear 60-vote majority and one-party refuses to negotiate. To bring the war to a conclusion in the next few years, something must change: the Senate could eliminate the filibuster, which may carry long-term risks; voters could shift party control of the Senate; or the nation could take decisive action to avoid another prolonged conflict like Vietnam. Second, the Republican Party is now led largely by right-wing, authoritarian figures who seem more focused on retaining power than on serving the country’s best interests. The United States was founded on government of, by, and for the people—a system that relies on compromise, bro...

Voting

Voting is one of the most important duties of an American citizen. It determines not only the nation’s leaders, but also the direction and policies the government will follow.  How does it work?   Voting in the United States is established by the U.S. Constitution and several constitutional amendments. Article I, Section 2 states that members of the House of Representatives are elected by the people of each state. It also provides that, when a vacancy occurs, the state’s governor must issue a writ of election to fill the seat.  Article I, Section 3 establishes the structure and composition of the Senate. The 17th Amendment changed how senators are chosen, replacing selection by state legislatures with direct election by the people of each state. Unlike House vacancies, Senate vacancies may be filled temporarily by the governor of the state where the vacancy occurs.  Through voting, Americans choose who represents them in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Political Purges

Years ago, during Mr. Trump’s first term, I noted that he had begun a political purge within the government unlike anything seen in decades. Now, in his second term, those purges have intensified to a level unprecedented in United States history. Unlike his first term, when he waited until later in his presidency, he began this effort on day one through numerous executive orders and by bringing in Elon Musk as his illegally appointed hatchet man. He appointed cabinet secretaries who turned federal departments—and even Congress—into tools of political destruction. He also attacked the news media to undermine public trust in it. History shows that these were among Hitler’s first steps: reshaping government leadership and manipulating the media narrative to persuade people that the press was biased and dishonest. Once he did that, he gained influence over parts of the media and used them to convince the public that his path was the only one. The result was the slaughter of more than six ...

We are back!

Yes, I know it has been more than six years since my last post, and those years have brought a lot: wars, thousands of deaths, a volatile stock market, rising fuel costs, and Republicans blaming Democrats while Democrats blame Republicans. Meanwhile, Congress still gets little done because its members are too focused on fighting for power instead of serving the people. So, we’re going to start fresh. That doesn’t necessarily mean Rebel Leader has changed his views on government; it means he will focus more on the recent past, the present, and what may come next. For that reason, I will not edit or delete any previous posts. Fair warning, though: some of my opinions may have changed since then. That simply means I have learned more, which has allowed me to rethink certain views.
