PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

 

Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to limit the number of terms an individual may serve as a Member of Congress.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This joint resolution may be cited as the “Congressional Term Limits Act”.

SEC. 2. CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.

The following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States:

“Article  —

“ Section 1. No person shall serve as a Representative for more than six two-year terms. Service as a Representative for more than one year of any two-year term shall be treated as a complete term for purposes of this section, without regard to whether the service was completed by the individual originally elected to the term.

“ Section 2. No person shall serve as a Senator for more than two six-year terms. Service as a Senator for more than three years of any six-year term shall be treated as a complete term for purposes of this section, without regard to whether the service was completed by the individual originally elected to the term.

“ Section 3. No term beginning before the date of the ratification of this article shall be taken into account in determining eligibility for election or appointment under this article.”.

A little history prospective… So far in the history of the United States of America there has been three Presidents that have been impeached but none removed. What is interesting is when you review the votes in both the House and the Senate, the process has be partisan throughout history. Interestingly enough, the first two impeachments were of Presidents that were Democrats and the vote to Impeach was done by a majority of House members that were republican. In the Andrew Johnson (Democrat) impeachment, there were 124 Republicans in the House and 49 Democrats. Republicans voted 122 to 45 to impeach President Johnson. In the Bill Clinton (Democrat) case, there were 228 Republicans and 205 Democrats in the House. Republicans voted 223 to 200 to impeach President Clinton. More on Roger Stone

One of Mr. Thumps pundits – Roger Stone – has files a motion on the grounds that one juror was able to be unbiased in her consideration of his guilt or innocence and therefore should be acquitted.   I wonder if one could file a motion with the U.S. Supreme Court Justice who presided over the Trump impeachment on the grounds that 52 senators failed to be impartial and actually had made up their mind BEFORE any testimony was presented and WITHOUT calling any witnesses? After all, the Republican party wants to hound on the issue that this was a “trial” and Trump was never given the opportunity to defend himself. Oh! But Wait! That would not be fair to poor, little old Mr. Trump … NOT!!!

Senator Rick Scott Is not Doing His job

Rick Scott, and his staff, are not doing their job by representing the interest of their constituents. More specifically, an attempt has been made twice through the email site of Senator Scott, and twice on Facebook, for his assistance in finding out the status of my father’s cremains which were sent to Mayport NAS in Jacksonville for Burial at Sea. NO ONE – INCLUDING HIS STAFF – HAS MADE ANY CONTACT WITH ME OR WITH THE US NAVY TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE .It has now been over 18 months and my father has still not been buried at sea and they have no idea when it will be accomplished. Now, the US Navy in Mayport NAS did finally after 5 weeks respond to my letter, but Senator Rick Scott has saw fit to get his bald head mug plastered in the media for various reasons, rather than show compassion and interest in a veteran and his family.
